Tortuga is a 1971 American Marine 49′ Alaskan – Hull #6. She is a classic passage making trawler with a rich history, designed for heavy duty offshore cruising with a 1,000 mile range.
Jim is a retired Navy Lieutenant Commander (Mustang). Growing up – he moved from the Boy Scouts to the Sea Cadets at the age of 14. Including his teenage years at sea through his retirement from the Navy Reserve in ’93, Jim has spent over 24 years in sea-going occupations.
