jimJim is a retired Navy Lieutenant Commander (Mustang).  Growing up – he moved from the Boy Scouts to the Sea Cadets at the age of 14.  Including his teenage years at sea through his retirement from the Navy Reserve in ’93, Jim has spent over 24 years in sea-going occupations.  Jim attended graduate school at Georgia Institute of Technology where he studied Human Machine Systems Engineering, his Bachelors in Chemistry and Computer Science is from Mary Washington College and his Associates in Chemical Engineering is from Columbus Technical Institute.

Jim recently left a position as the Director for Business Development and Technology Transfer for a research and development laboratory near Orlando and the University of Central Florida.  They conducted R&D in the areas of computer-human interaction for various branches of the Defense Department and other government agencies.  He has been a guest lecturer or adjunct faculty member at institutions such as Georgia State, Georgia Institute of Technology, The Art Institute of Atlanta and the American Intercontinental University.  Jim is currently working full time on the restoration of Tortuga.
